Changing Season

It is known that the time of autumn depends on the part of the world. In general, the season will change on either Sept. 22 or 23. Officials always emphasize that  the equinox isn’t a daylong event. Rather, the equinox is defined by the position of the Earth and the sun at a particular moment in time.

Time Zones

The equinox not only depends on time zones, but also depend on the speed of Sun around the world. It is a fact that the speed of sun can vary from part to part. According to experts, there is a general explanation about the occurrence of the equinox: ”On Sept. 22 at nearly 9:54, the sun will cross the celestial equator, or an imaginary line that projects Earth’s equator into space. At the same time, the Northern and Southern hemispheres will receive an equal amount of sunshine. Moreover, and the length of day and night will be approximately equal around the world.”


Leap Years 

There is a term which is called as ”leap year”. Moreover, according to details of this term equinox can be defined in different ways. Officials also say that due to the fact that the leap years occur, the dates of the equinoxes and solstices can shift by a day or two over time, causing the start dates of the seasons to shift, too.

The Last Time The Autumnal Equinox

It is emphasized that last Sept. 24 equinox was in 1931. Therefore, it’s been a long time since the equinox occurred on Sept. 21. The next Sept. 24 equinox will be in the year 2303.
